Lake Street Dive has transitioned from being a festival favorite to one of the most highly anticipated tour headliners. The band is currently in the 19th year of their career, and they have steadily amassed a loyal following with their eclectic mix of genres. The band has been known to perform a wide range of sounds, from soul to indie pop, folk, alternative, and jazz. Meanwhile, the members, led by jazz singer Rachel Price and band founder Bridget Kearney are all accomplished musicians.
Ten years into their career, the band achieved their first breakthrough with their fourth album, Bad Self Portraits. The record entered the Billboard 200 and Top Rock Albums chart and peaked at number 18 and number 5. In 2016, the Lake Street Drive topped the Billboard chart for the first time when their fifth studio effort, Side Pony, went to number 1 on the Top Rick Albums. The record spawned numerous staples, including the crowd favorite “Good Kisser” and “I Don’t Care About You.”
Since their breakthrough in 2014, Lake Street Drive has consistently performed phenomenally on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart. In 2021, their single “ Hypotheticals,” from their latest album Obviously,” became their highest charting song on the chart, reaching number 2. The single was followed by two more remarkable staples, “Nobody’s Stopping You Now” and “Know That I Know.”
Last year, the band celebrated the tenth year anniversary of their debut EP, Fun Machine. To commemorate this occasion, the band released Fun Machine: The Sequel.
